Small rain chances into Sunday, warm through the weekend (10/15/22)

This weekend will stay warm and in the 70s once more on Sunday. Winds have also calmed down but increasing cloud cover heading into Saturday evening will keep temperatures milder. Low temperatures are only expected to be in the upper 40s and 50s. Heading into next week with the chance for a hard freeze, Saturday evening will be one of the warmer mornings for a while.

Dma Tonight Low

Our FOX 23 coverage is outside of the risk for severe weather, but the chance to see some rain showers out of the system pushing through to our south is not out of the question. The best chance to see rainfall of an inch or more will be the farther south you go (below), depending on where isolated thunderstorms develop. Within Cape Girardeau, precipitation potential is lower overall. There are slight chances for rain showers throughout the morning hours on Sunday, but not much accumulation if any is expected.

Sunday will be mostly cloudy and temperatures will likely be in the low 70s once more with light winds out of the northwest. The end of the weekend will be the warmest for a while looking into the start of the next work week and high temperatures dropping into the 50s.

Dma Tomorrow High

After small rain chances Saturday into Sunday, we dry out for the rest of the longer-range forecast. By Monday evening, we could see record low temperatures or near that point with freezing conditions possible. Elevated fire concerns also start up again by Monday as stronger winds return to our area, but with cooler temperatures the relative humidity will not be as low as we have seen lately.
