Starting to Cool Down, Scattered Precipitation Chances on Monday
A few small chances for showers and storms work their way into the forecast for the start of the work week. Temperatures are finally on the decline across the Heartland after several days of record-breaking heat.
Scattered showers and a few rumbles of thunder will be possible with the incoming front across the viewing area. The latest run of StormCast shows the potential for a spot shower or two during Monday afternoon as well.
Low temperatures fall to the upper 60s and 70s Monday morning, remaining well above average.
Partly cloudy skies are expected through the overnight hours, though a shower or two cannot be ruled out either.
Some of the viewing area may see warmer temperatures on Monday afternoon, though a northerly wind will begin to usher in some relief for our northern counties.

Chances for showers and storms remain fairly quiet through the week ahead. Our best chance will come late Friday and Saturday as temperatures remain in the mid-70s through the start of next week.
