Storm chance late Tuesday and Wednesday
Record highs are possible on Tuesday!
The old records are:
Cape Girardeau: 76 (2009)
Paducah: 79 (1990)
Carbondale: 82 (1911)
Poplar Bluff: 79 (1974)
A cold front will be approaching from the northwest Tuesday and severe storm will be possible along the front. It will make its way into our area late Tuesday night.
Below is what our StormCast weather model is showing for timing, location, and duration of the storm potential.
As you can see from our StormCast weather model above, the better chance for storms for us will be on Wednesday. Because of this, our entire viewing area is in a level 1 “Marginal Risk” and a level 2 “Slight Risk” for severe weather. Large hail, damaging wind, and isolated tornadoes will be possible.
Temperatures will cool down after the front moves through, but highs will still be well above average (56).
