Storm Chances Ahead for Friday
Friday will get off to a stormy start across the Heartland, but it should bring some much-needed precipitation for those still experiencing drought conditions.
Lows are expected to remain mild this evening in the lower to middle 60s.
Cloud cover will build in Cape Girardeau with chances for showers and thunderstorms increasing towards sunrise.
Above is the latest run of StormCast showing a line of showers and thunderstorms that will move west to east across the viewing area.
An isolated strong to severe storm cannot be ruled out on Friday. A Marginal Risk (Level 1 out of 5) of severe weather is in place. Large hail and damaging winds would be the main concerns with the strongest storms in our area.
Highs on Monday will be closer to average with mostly cloudy skies and storm chances across the viewing area.
We may see a little bit of sunshine following the morning and afternoon storm chances in Cape.
Saturday will give us a break from the storm chances before a more active weather pattern returns on Sunday. Monday looks to be the main day to watch for severe weather, and we will continue to monitor this potential closely heading through the weekend. With the exception of Monday, high temperatures continue in the 70s for the week ahead.
