FLOOD WATCH will be in effect until 1 p.m. CDT on Sunday, June 29, due to excessive amounts of rainfall received over the past couple of days, with an additional rainfall of 1-3″ possible overnight. If you encounter a flooded roadway while driving, turn around and do not attempt to pass through.

High temperatures for much of the heartland were in the upper 80s and lower 90s. A few spots were locally cooler due to this Saturday afternoon’s showers and thunderstorms.

Overnight lows will fall to the lower 70s with a light breeze. Chances for showers and thunderstorms continue overnight, especially between West Plains and Poplar Bluff.

Forecast highs for Sunday will keep us just below average with cloudy skies and storm chances throughout the day. Winds will be out of the south/southwest at 5 to 10 miles per hour, with localized areas of flooding possible.

For Cape Girardeau, storm chances continue through Monday. High temperatures will remain near average leading up to Independence Day. Temperatures will sit right around 90 for the holiday, with a small chance of an isolated shower or thunderstorm
