Storm chances Saturday evening (10/14/22)

Friday saw temperatures in the upper 70s, a bit warmer than normal thanks to stronger wind gusts out of the southwest and clear skies. Winds have been especially strong the past couple days, gusting upwards of 35 miles per hour, but we will be calming down as we transition into the weekend.

A weak front will pass through Friday evening, but no rain chances are expected with it as it passes. Temperatures as a result on Saturday will make it back into the 70s, but the lower 70s at that with calm winds out of the north.

Dma Tomorrow High

Rain chances are in the forecast for later Saturday evening, with the best chance for rain off to the south. The timing of this system looks to come through late Saturday evening into the early morning hours of Sunday. The chance to see precipitation decreases by the afternoon on Sunday, but mostly cloudy skies will remain after that.

Latest Graf Dma Clouds And Precipitation

Other than rain chances tomorrow evening into Sunday, the forecast remains dry through next week. That along with winds picking up once more will likely bring a risk for more warnings for fire dangers. Looking at the drought update, the extreme drought has expanded wider east and west including both Cape Girardeau and Paducah. With dry conditions and higher winds, elevated fire risks are usually a possibility. That and a frost/freeze potential are possible next week with a dry and cool pattern continuing.
