Storms early, quiet second half of the weekend
A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH is in place until 2:00pm for our southern viewing area and 5:00pm for our eastern viewing area. Southeast Missouri, southern Illinois and much of western Kentucky is in the clear.

The main concern will be damaging wind in excess of 50 mph.
A quick spin up tornado will be possible in the green shaded area below with storms that can get rotation going.
Looking at our StormCast weather model, just about all of the storms will be out of our area by mid afternoon. Leaving us with cloudy skies and a quiet second half of the weekend.
