Storms possible Saturday, wind threat primary concern
For the first part of this weekend, there is a Slight (Level 2 of 5) risk for some storms to be severe for Saturday afternoon and evening. Most of SEMO is included in this, as we’ve seen storms popping up along a line Saturday afternoon.
Gusty winds will be the primary concern with these storms. Small hail, mainly non-severe in size, cannot be ruled out with some of these storms.
The storms will likely linger throughout the evening hours, as another system moves in from the northwest. Rain chances will continue into early Sunday, coupled with relief from the heat.
We’ll be monitoring for any watches issued later on through the rest of the day Saturday, so be sure to stay tuned to the FOX 23 Storm Alert Team for the latest.
