Storms remain possible through the weekend (7/28/22)
A frontal system continues to be in our midst heading into the weekend, bringing cooler air and renewed storm chances along with it.
The front actually meanders southward on Friday. This will have the effect of reducing rain chances for the northern sections of the FOX 23 coverage area. While scattered storms are still not totally impossible, but most storm activity should develop in our southern regions.
High temperatures on Friday should top out in the lower and middle-80s for many locations, which is slightly below average for this time of year.
Heading into the weekend, the aforementioned front drifts back to the north. As a result, rain chances increase for everyone once again on Saturday and Sunday. We’re bumping up the Skeeter Meter into the “Ugh” territory over the weekend given the increased chance of standing water associated with any rain.
While we have storm chances, high temperatures remain stuck in the 80s. However, summer makes a return next week with drier weather along with 90°+ high temperatures in the forecast.
