A cold front sweeping into the region will trigger thunderstorms through tomorrow afternoon with heavy rain expected
The threat of severe storms through the night also exists.
The SPC for tomorrow shows only a marginal risk.
Lows overnight will average around five degrees above normal.
Storms are likely throughout the day but start to wind down after 3 PM.
With the passage of the cold front highs will be around ten degrees below normal.
As storm chances fade we’ll see a warming trend through the middle of next week followed by a heat wave.
The cold front accompanied by a shortwave could bring 3″ to 5″ of rain to portions of southeast Missouri, western Kentucky and south Illinois late tonight through Sunday morning. Showers and storms will also build along a warm front currently lifting north into southwest Indiana. As the cold front sags south later on Sunday drier cooler conditions will settle in.
