Storms Wednesday Night into Thursday (8/3/22)
A Flood Watch is in place for much of Missouri and portions of western and northern Illinois through Thursday morning. Several inches of rain will be possible in this area through the overnight.
Strong to severe storms are going to be possible for portions of eastern and southern Missouri into western and NW Illinois through the early evening hours of Wednesday, August 3, 2022.
Much of the KBSI viewing area is not in this Severe Thunderstorm Watch, including Cape Girardeau and Paducah, but storms will still be likely later tonight into the overnight hours. It is possible that we may see a severe weather watch for more of our area later tonight if these storms hang onto their strength. We will update you here if that’s the case. Either way, storms are likely tonight and then again tomorrow with heavy rain, hail, damaging wind, and lightning all possible.
Temperatures are going to slowly fall through the 80s and drop into the 70s by early tomorrow morning. We may see a quick temperature drop as the storms roll through, but they will rebound after they pass.
The heat index will be very warm through the early evening hours before dropping off overnight.
