Strong storms possible on Wednesday
Wednesday has a chance for strong to severe storms. Storm chances continue Thursday afternoon. Friday will be mostly sunny, with smaller rain chances in the evening. Temperatures will dip into the 90s and upper 80s.
Strong to severe storms are possible on Wednesday. Parts of SE Missouri, southern Illinois, NW Tennessee and far west Kentucky are in a Slight Risk (level 2/5) for Severe Weather. Western Kentucky and NW Tennessee are also in a Marginal Risk (level 1/5) for Severe Weather.
Many models are showing strong to possibly severe storms starting in the late afternoon hours into the evening. Damaging wind speeds, large hail and a strong thunderstorm or two are the primary risks for severe weather. The Storm Alert Team is monitoring this system as it arrives.
Following Wednesday’s storm chances and higher humidity levels, our Skeeter Meter is ranked “high”. We see smaller storm chances both Thursday and Friday.
There is a chance for showers and storms everyday this week. The storms will be very spotty with some dry periods in between. Most of Friday will be mostly sunny, with small chances for showers arriving in the evening. Temperatures dip into the upper 80s for the weekend before we warm back into the lower 90s the start of next week.
