Sunny, Breezy Thursday, Storms Friday
A warm and breezy Thursday lies ahead of increasing storm chances by Friday for the Heartland. Highs look to remain above average in the lower 80s.
Early Thursday morning looks to be mild with lows reaching the mid- to upper-50s.
Clear skies are expected tonight for Cape Girardeau with an occasional strong gust out of the south.
Highs look to be close to 10 degrees above average for late April on Thursday afternoon.
Cape will see mostly sunny skies with a breezy Thursday afternoon, though nothing that should seriously impact any afternoon plans.
Stormcast looks to keep us dry through most of Thursday, with chances for showers and thunderstorms increasing by early Friday morning.
Severe storms will be possible on Friday afternoon and into the evening, with the greatest risk to our south and west. A few counties are included in a Slight Risk (Level 2 out of 5) for severe weather, which indicates scattered severe storms are possible. The remainder of the viewing area is under a Marginal Risk (Level 1 out of 5) meaning an isolated severe storm could occur. For the moment, all severe weather hazards are possible.
We get a break from the storm potential on Saturday, followed by a couple of chances for storms on Sunday and Monday. Temperatures mainly reside in the 70s, with a brief trip to the 80s for the start of next week.
