Sunny, Slightly Cooler for Labor Day

Labor Day features another warm day, though most of the viewing area should see some of the coolest weather we have seen in some time.

The latest run of StormCast remains uneventful through the start of the work week.

We start out with temperatures in the mid-to-upper 60s on Monday morning, with a light northeasterly wind.

Mostly clear skies are expected through the overnight hours in Cape Girardeau. Temperatures fall to the middle 60s for the start of the holiday.

Upper 80s to lower 90s blanket the Heartland, which should be manageable for any outdoor Labor Day plans. We remain well above average for early September in the viewing area.

Expect plenty of sunshine on Monday in Cape, which will allow temperatures to reach the upper 80s in the afternoon.

The relief from the heat will be short-lived, as warmer weather and humidity surge by Tuesday.

Temperatures peak on Wednesday before storm chances and cooler weather arrive alongside a passing front. Temperatures will remain above average through next weekend in the Heartland.
