Tornado reports from March 14-15, 2025

An EF-3 tornado tore a path of destruction across western and northern parts of Carter County. This tornado may have started further southwest in Shannon County, but it is unknown at this time. Significant tree damage occurred along Green Mountain Road with hundreds of trees uprooted or snapped, along with at least a couple trees that were debarked. A steel trailer was picked up and lofted several hundred yards. Several homes were completely destroyed along the path from Green Mountain Road and northeast towards the town of Fremont and further north along Carter Highway Y. The tornado continued northeast and produced additional tree damage along Highway M and Highway D as it moved into far northeast Carter County. It then crossed into Iron County.

An EF-3 tornado started in western Butler County along County Road 462. It moved east-northeast along County Road 450. Some of the worst damage was located along here with one house completely leveled resulting in 1 fatality. The tornado then crossed Hwy 67 and hit a mobile home park on the west side of Poplar Bluff. From there it produced mainly roof damage to homes and businesses as it moved through Poplar Bluff. Hundreds of trees were snapped or uprooted along the path. It crossed Highway 60 and continued northeast to a little northwest of the town of Rombauer. Significant damage was noted along Highway T where at least one home was completely leveled. Hi-res satellite imagery helped extend the track a little further northeast, but it is unknown at this time if it extends even further northeast and possibly connects with the Fisk tornado. There were very strong inflow winds noted to the south of the tornado path with peak winds up to 100 mph which resulted in extensive tree damage.

An EF-1 tornado began southwest of Puxico in a wooded area along County Road 404. Traveling northeast, the tornado severely damaged an outbuilding on T Highway. In Puxico, a few homes suffered roof, gutter, and fascia damaged. The tornado ended just northeast of Puxico.

An EF-2 tornado, started in far northern Jackson Co. and tracked northeast through the St.Johns area in Perry Co. It damaged trees, homes, outbuildings, power lines, and toppled gravestones at a cemetery.

An EF-1 tornado, began southwest of Sikeston near FF Highway. There were several roof panels from a barn scattered about and power poles down south of the town of Browns. Moving east-northeast, the tornado damaged a few apartment buildings on Lawrence Street, then damaged the roofs of a nearby shopping center and fast food restaurant. Crossing US 61, the tornado did extensive roof and awning damage to a nursing home facility on Col. George E. Day Parkway. The tornado then damaged the roofs of several homes in a neighborhood near Plantation Boulevard before dissipating at Ingram Road.

2022 Kbsi

An EF-2 tornado, tracked from approx.3 miles west of Vienna, IL northeast  through the Bloomfield area, before ending near the county line east of Ozark, IL. Numerous trees were damaged, as well as some power lines, homes, outbuildings, and trailers.
