Warmer for the Week Ahead
Sunday was one for the record books in Cape Girardeau with implications on both our low and high temperatures:
- 9 degrees was 2 degrees short of a new record low (7° in 2010).
- 21 degrees is the coldest high temperature for the date (previous 23° in 1985).
Chilly temperatures continue over the next couple of hours in Cape.
Low temperatures tonight will be frigid once again. Many of us in the lower to middle teens, close to 20 degrees below average.
Mostly clear tonight with a light breeze in Cape, low temperatures will flirt with the single digits.
High temperatures attempt to rebound on Monday but only reach the middle and upper 30s.
We reach the middle 30s tomorrow in Cape under mostly sunny skies. Strong winds out of the south-southwest between 5 and 15 miles per hour, gusting to 25.
The latest runs of StormCast keep us dry to start the week.
Temperatures continue to warm as we head through next week, reaching as high as the middle and upper 50s. A chance for showers and possible a thunderstorm on Thursday before we briefly cool down on Friday.
