Warmer Friday, Storm Chance Late Friday into Early Saturday
Strong winds and warmer weather return to the Heartland as the work week comes to a close. We should see a fair amount of sunshine on Friday afternoon, with highs in the mid to upper 70s.
The latest runs of StormCast keep us dry through the day on Friday, with chances for showers and possibly a thunderstorm arriving late Friday into early Saturday. The severe threat at this time remains low in these storms.
It will be another seasonally cooler evening across the viewing area with lows falling to the middle and upper 40s.
Mostly clear skies are expected in Cape Girardeau from Thursday evening into early Friday morning. Winds will be light and out of the south with temperatures dropping to the mid-40s.
Highs will be close to average for the Heartland on Friday. As southwesterly winds pick up, our afternoon temperatures will climb to the middle to upper 70s.
A few passing clouds are possible throughout our Friday in Cape, otherwise we see mostly sunny skies. A few strong gusts up to 25 miles per hour will be possible during the afternoon.
Sunshine returns on Saturday afternoon, following a chance of showers and thunderstorms early in the weekend forecast. Another round of showers and thunderstorms will be possible on Mother’s Day. Highs through the next seven days look to stay close to average in the 70s and 80s.
