Warmer than average and lots of rain (12/28/22)
The forecast highs for the rest of 2022 and the beginning of 2023 are going to be well above average. Our average high this time of year is 44 degrees and we’ll be 10 to 15 degrees above that all the way through the middle of next week! We also have quite a bit of rain chances in the forecast. Especially Thursday night into Friday, then again early next week. Some of those storms have the potential to be strong thunderstorms.
Much of Thursday is going to be dry. A few showers may pass through during the afternoon, but the better chance for rain comes after 6pm and into the overnight hours. We’ll see highs well above average, too!
Most of us will get into the 60s on Thursday, due in part to a gusty south wind at 10 to 25 mph.
The chance for rain increases as the week wears on. There’s a small rain chance early Thursday, but a better chance comes our way Thursday night into early Friday.
We may already be at half an inch for rainfall by early Friday morning. With more rain chances during the day Friday into early Saturday, we may be talking about 1-2″ rainfall totals.
If you’re headed out and about over the New Year’s Weekend, it’s looking very mild. In fact, the temperature when we ring in the new year is what our average high is this time of year!
There are many more rain chances in the 7Day forecast and a couple more 60 degree days, too!
