Warmer Than Average Stretch Continues

Temperatures remain above average for mid-September in the Heartland, with another chance of a high above 90 degrees.

The latest run of StormCast shows a chance for a few spot showers to our west, though most of the viewing area will remain dry. Dry weather continues for the majority of the week ahead.

We start the day on Sunday with temperatures warmer than average, down to the mid-to-upper 60s.

Mostly clear skies tonight for Cape Girardeau heading into Sunday morning. Winds will remain light as temperatures fall to the middle 60s.

Another afternoon with temperatures close to 10 degrees above average through the viewing area. Highs for most of us return to the lower and middle 90s.

While there is a small chance for a spot shower, it will likely not do much to bring relief from the heat in Cape. Expect mostly sunny skies with highs in the lower 90s.

A string of 90-degree days continues for most of the work week ahead of our next best chance of showers and storms. That will bring highs down a couple of degrees by next weekend, back down to the upper 80s.
