Watching our next potential rainmaker (8/18/22)

Thursday was another quiet day across the FOX 23 coverage area. Aside from some afternoon fair weather cumulus clouds, skies remained clear with temperatures a few degrees below normal.

For Thursday night, we expect clear skies. We’re likely waking up to sunny skies once again on Friday, with more fair weather cumulus clouds for the afternoon.

High temperatures may be a touch warmer on Thursday depending on your location. We’re forecasting middle and upper-80s across the viewing area.

The humidity may be just low enough, so we’re keeping the Skeeter Meter in the “Medium” category on Friday. However, the humidity increases this weekend. In fact, rain chances start to increase late Saturday, increasing our standing water potential on Sunday. For that reason, we’re steadily bumping up the Skeeter Meter through the weekend.

While many likely get through Saturday dry, rain chances start to increase late Saturday. That said, the best rain chances appear to be with us overnight Saturday and into Sunday.

Even then, we’re probably only dealing with scattered storms on Sunday. While Sunday features our next best potential for rain, there will very likely be dry points during the day. Any rain should depart late Sunday or very early Monday, setting us up for another nice stretch of weather.
