Winter storm is moving through
As the winter storm churns through our area, you can check the radar in this link as well as see the latest forecast discussion: Weather Page
Winter Weather Advisories (purple) and Winter Storm Warnings (pink) are in place from 6:00pm this evening through noon Wednesday.
The latest weather model runs have less than an inch for Murray, Union City, and Kennett. Around an inch and a half for Paducah, then 3-6″ for areas north and west.
The Storm Alert Team forecast has a sharp cutoff from rain, to snow, to heavy snow. Rain to the southeast, 4-8″ to the northwest. Travel will become difficult, especially in the areas that see heavy snow.
There is going to be quite a bit of wind, but the highest wind gusts will be for those that aren’t seeing a lot of snow. So that helps out a little bit. It’ll still be windy where it snow, just not quite as bad.
We eventually quiet down and cool off for Thursday. We warm back up in time for the weekend, when more rain is looking possible.
