Winter Storm Update-Friday Afternoon
A WINTER STORM WARNING remains in effect for most of the viewing area until 12 am Saturday. Western portions of the viewing area should expect snowfall to end near 4 pm on Friday, while parts of eastern Illinois and Kentucky could see snowfall continuing until 6-8pm.
Stormcast shows snowfall wrapping up for most of the region around 7 pm. Hazardous road conditions are expected to impact the evening commute.
As of 4 pm, parts of the region are seeing nearly 6 inches of snow. Additional accumulations are possible going into the evening hours, especially further to the east.
Temperatures throughout the rest of the afternoon will remain in the lower 30s and upper 20s. Winds will be light and out of the west this evening, and lows tonight will drop down into the lower 20s and upper teens. Expect high temperatures in the 30s and clear skies for the weekend ahead.
