CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – The City of Cape is an ever growing city, and with said growth comes the need to fill more jobs.

Doug Gannon, director of Parks and Rec for the City, has worked his way to the top.

His passion for the job led him to a career path that has become a lifestyle, which dates back to his college days.

“At that point and time I realized that I’ve got a certain, a large degree of satisfaction of from seeing people benefit from things I have a hand in providing,” he said.

The City has multiple employees who have found solace in serving the community.

“I started in high school, actually. I called up and I was like, ‘Hey,’ you know what’s the process? Do I have to go through training? Do I have to do anything special? They were like, nope, come on, we’ll get you started,” recalled Kaelin Casasola, manager of the Cape Jaycee Municipal Golf Course.

Casasola says there are a multitude of opportunities within the City, which many people don’t realize.

“They were like, ‘Hey, do you want to work in other areas, the concession stands or at Osage?” said Casasola.

With multiple job fairs going on, many can work their way to the corporate level.

All you need is a resume and the right contact.
