Grand opening held for new aquatic center in Cape Girardeau

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – Several people celebrated the grand opening of the new Jefferson Elementary Civic Center and Aquatic Center in Cape Girardeau on Thursday.

Staff and students of Jefferson Elementary School and city leaders celebrated with a ribbon cutting.

Beginning April 3, the city of Cape Girardeau will host the following events:

• 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays — water exercise classes
• 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays — fitness swim
•  3-7 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays — public recreational swim hours
• 3-8 p.m. Fridays — public recreational swim hours
• Noon-5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays — public recreational swim hours
