Glenallen Fire Department gone; Firetrucks destroyed
GLENALLEN, Mo. (KBSI)- Wednesday morning Glenallen fire fighters woke to the sounds of sirens and calls for help, only to find one of their fire stations was destroyed and along with it, several firetrucks.
Calvin Troxell, Marble Hill County Coroner says, “All this has went on and believe it or not, even though I’m the Fire Chief I have not had time to go look at the trucks I’ve spent all my time with people, but from what I’m being told by those who are my eyes and ears in the field, is that we have one truck that is pretty severely damaged and I hope the other three trucks are going to be salvageable.”
Firetrucks can range in cost from two hundred and fifty thousand to nearly half a million dollars.
Coroner Calvin Troxell says the destroyed station was the biggest of their outreach stations.
But even down four trucks and one station, the fire department reassures the community they are still able to serve.
