Notre Dame Alumni Tony Buehrle Golf Scramble held in Cape Girardeau
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – The Notre Dame Alumni Tony Buehrle Golf Scramble took place Friday, June 16.
It was held at the Cape Girardeau Country Club. The event is presented by Plaza Tire. FOX23 is one of the sponsors of the event.
“So this is the Tony Buehrle Alumni Golf Scramble that we have every summer,” said Notre Dame Regional High School Principal Tim Garner. “We’ve got a lot of support from the community for this event. Lots of corporate sponsors. Plaza Tire being one of the main sponsors of the event. Also just other sponsors out here at various holes handing things out interacting with folks from the community. We love seeing people come back, alumni that come back to the area every year for this tournament. This coinciding with the 2022 state soccer championship that’s going into our hall of fame this year. Lots of those guys that were on that team are back for the weekend. We haven’t seen them for a while. It’s an exciting time to have, a Friday, with beautiful weather at Cape Country Club. It’s an event we look forward to every year and we look forward to being back here years to come.”
“This is the 2023 Notre Dame Tony Buehrle Alumni Golf Scramble,” said Jeff Graviett, Notre Dame High School athletic director. “Been having this tournament for well beyond my time here. It’s a fundraiser set up to help the athletic department which is funded through many fundraiser events that we do throughout the year. It goes to all our athletic programs. This event is presented by Plaza Tire. We couldn’t do this without their support and the support of all our corporate sponsorships that come and not only sponsor us financially but come and help us by coming out and being sponsors on hole and interacting with our players today. It’s a fun event. We get our alumni. We get our corporate sponsors. We get our booster board members here on a day and hang out. Show them what being a Notre Dame Bulldog is all about.”
