2 face charges in Bollinger County after authorities receive tip

MARBLE HILL, Mo. (KBSI) – Two people faces charges after the Bollinger County Sheriff’s Office and Marble Hill Police Department received a report of a person with an active federal arrest warrant was in Marble Hill.
On Sunday, June 25, the Bollinger County Sheriff’s Office and Marble Hill Police Department received a report of an person with an active federal arrest warrant for a felony weapons offense who was located at the Lauren’s Place Apartments on Lutes Street in Marble Hill.
That person was identified as Jevon Burleson of Cape Girardeau.
After receiving that information, authorities obtained additional information in reference to a woman at the same apartment as Burleson who also had a felony arrest warrant and a misdemeanor arrest warrant for drug offenses.
She was identified as Jasa Elliott. Authorities obtained a search warrant for the apartment that both Burleson and Elliott were in.
Assistance was requested from the Cape Girardeau County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team (SRT).
At around 3:22 p.m., the Cape Girardeau County Sheriff’s Office along with officials from the Bollinger County Sheriff’s Office and the Marble Hill Police Department arrived at the Lauren’s Place Apartments to serve the search warrant.
Burleson and Elliott were arrested and taken to the Cape Girardeau County Jail in Jackson.
Authorities say Burleson was found to not only be a convicted felon with a prior conviction for firearms possession, but he also had prior convictions for assault and drug offenses.
“I want to personally thank Cape Girardeau County Sheriff Ruth Ann Dickerson and the Cape Girardeau County Sheriff’s Office SRT for their assistance in the apprehension of Burleson and Elliott,” Bollinger County Sheriff Casey A. Graham said in a post on the Bollinger County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page. “There cannot be enough said as to the importance of interagency assistance and my gratitude for such.”
