Man arrested after Paducah police stop burglary

PADUCAH, Ky. (KBSI) – A Paducah man faces several charges after police were called to a business late Wednesday night for a burglary-in-progress.
The owner of Sonny’s Market, a gas station and convenience store, reported to Paducah 911 that he could see a person inside of his business while remotely viewing his security camera feed.
Officers arrived on scene around 10:30 p.m. and heard someone running out of the back of the business. Officers found Jordan B. Youman hiding in a grassy area next to a heating and air unit, according the Paducah Police Department.
Police reviewed the security footage from the business and determined Youman’s description matched that of the person in the video who
was trying to open a safe, according to police.
Officers saw Youman in the video to be armed with a handgun.
Police say Youman admitted to officers that he had been inside the business and in possession of a handgun. Police say he told officers he threw the handgun over a fence when they arrived.
Officers found a 9mm handgun. Police say Youman had 9mm ammunition in his pocket.
Youman was also found to have an unrelated and outstanding arrest warrant out of McCracken County for assault 4th degree, stalking 2nd degree, and unlawful imprisonment 2nd degree.
