Mayfield Police Department participates in active shooter/active aggression training

MAYFIELD, Ky. (KBSI) – Officers with the Mayfield Police Department participated in response to active shooter/active aggression training throughout the week of July 10.
Officers conducted drills and scenarios that focused on decision making, observing for threats, verbal de-escalation, as well as team building, according to the Mayfield Police Depratment.
They used specially modified firearms that fire a paint bullet to introduce stress and realism to the training.
Officers, equipped with a helmet and protective equipment, faced threats that would fire on them.
They also faced scenarios that focused on crisis intervention.
