Murray woman facing drug charges after traffic stop

CALLOWAY COUNTY, Ky. (KBSI) – A Murray woman faces drug charges after a traffic stop Saturday night in Calloway County.

Moranda Helms, 34, of Murray faces charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of a substance 1st offense, failure of owner to maintain insurance, possession of controlled substance 1st degree, 1st offense (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Calloway County Sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop on Murray Paris Road around 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 29.

Helms was believed to be impaired and in possession of methamphetamine, according to the sheriff’s office.

She was arrested and taken to the Calloway County Detention Center.
