POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. (KBSI) – Three Rivers College students will have a new scholarship available to them.

The Southern Bank Executive Scholarship will provide an annual award for a Three Rivers college student for perpetuity.

The scholarships are awarded based on recommendations to students with a 3.0 grade point average or higher on a 4.0 scale and who exhibit a financial need.

“We are grateful for the Bank’s commitment to Three Rivers College students now and in the future,” said Michelle Reynolds, Executive Director of the Endowment Trust. “These scholarships represent a long-term investment in our students.”

“Southern Bank is committed to investing in future generations, and we’re pleased to sponsor this scholarship to assist individuals in our community as they work to pursue their dreams and goals,” said Southern Bank Market President Mel Jackson. “We look forward to the contributions these students will make to our communities over many years as a result of this investment.”

Three Rivers students receive more than $13 million in financial aid each year. All students are automatically considered for more than 280 scholarships by completing the application for admission and submitting their FAFSA.  Visit trcc.edu/pay-for-college/financial-aid/ for more information.

“Southern Bank has been a continued partner to Three Rivers College, and this scholarship reinforces their dedication to both our institution and higher education in Southeast Missouri,” said Dr. Wesley Payne, President of Three Rivers College.
