Maple Grove Elementary on Joppa closed rest of week after roof damage

JOPPA, Ill. (KBSI) – Maple Grove Elementary in Joppa, Illinois is closed the rest of the week after recent rain caused roof damage.
Joppa-Maple Grove Unit School District #38 Vickie Artman sent an email to parents Tuesday afternoon saying the elementary is experiencing weather-related maintenance issues.
The elementary will be closed for the rest of the week for clean-up and repairs.
Joppa Jr./Sr. High School will be open and ready for students.
“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you, however, the safety of our students and staff is of the utmost priority,” said Artman in the email.
The school will deliver breakfast and lunch via the bus routes beginning at 10 a.m. each day. If a student is not a bus rider, and parents would like a meal for their child, one can be picked up at the high school between 10:30 and 11 a.m.
