Traffic stop leads to meth arrest in Marion, IL

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. (KBSI) – A woman faces a meth charge after a traffic stop in Marion on September 13.

Deputies from the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office saw a vehicle commit a traffic violation and stopped the driver near the intersection of Old Creal Springs Road and East Pickett Lane at 12:16 a.m.

Raven L. Carter was the driver and deputies found she was on mandatory supervised release as the result of a prior criminal offense, according to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies found a hypodermic syringe and a bag containing a crystalline substance that subsequently tested positive for methamphetamine, according to the sheriff’s office.

Carter was cited for felony possession of methamphetamine.

Carter was taken to the Williamson County Jail.
