GRAVES COUNTY, Ky. (KBSI) – Two people were taken to the hospital after a two-vehicle, rollover crash Thursday morning in Graves County.

Deputies from the Graves County Sheriff’s Department responded to a crash on State Route 45 North near Baldree Road around 6:48 a.m. on October 19.

Deputies found both vehicles off the road, overturned and down a grass embankment.

The drivers and passengers of the vehicles were found sitting and standing near their vehicles.

Robert Bell, 65, of Ledbetter was driving a 20220 Toyota Tacoma southbound on State Route 45 in the second lane. Abigail Norton, 21, of Paducah was driving a 2020 Buick SUV and was also southbound on State Route 45 in the second lane.

Norton began to overtake Bell and swerved to the left causing her to lose control of the vehicle, according to the Graves County Sheriff John Cavin.

Norton overcorrected the vehicle causing it to crash into the driver side of the 2020 Tacoma. The crash caused both vehicles to leave the road and overturn several times.

Robert Bell received non-life-threatening injuries. He refused to be taken to a hospital.

Abigail Norton and her passenger were transported to Mercy/Lourdes Hospital Emergency Room by Mayfield/Graves County EMS for non-life-threatening injuries.

The Viola Volunteer Fire Department, Mayfield/Graves County EMS, Paul’s Wrecker Service, Gibson’s Wrecker Service and Graves County Health Department assisted the Graves County Sheriff’s Office.
