2 arrested in connection to shots fired in Carbondale in November

CARBONDALE, Ill. (KBSI) – Two men were arrested this week in connection with a report of gunfire in November in Carbondale.
Kionte L. Scott, 18, of DeSoto faces charges of reckless discharge of a firearm and unlawful possession of a firearm.
Jakobi N. Shered, 20, of Carbondale faces charges of reckless discharge of a firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.
Carbondale police officers responded to the 900 block of East Grand Avenue regarding numerous reports of shots fired at 6:08 p.m. on November 5.
No injuries were reported but vehicles and apartments were damaged as a result of the gunfire.
Detectives followed up on leads and identified Kionte L. Scott, 18, of DeSoto, and Jakobi N. Shered, 20, of Carbondale as suspects.
On the evening of December 6, Carbondale officers arrested Scott during a traffic stop in Carbondale.
On the morning of December 7, detectives arrested Shered at a home in Carbondale.
A firearm was recovered by detectives.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
