Carbondale man faces charges after police say he was found with rifle

CARBONDALE, Ill. (KBSI) – A Carbondale man faces charges of unlawful use of a weapon after police say they found him with a firearm.
On November 4 Carbondale Police officers responded to reports of a man with a gun on 1200 block of West College Street.
Dakota W. Mitchell, 31, of Carbondale was found standing near a rifle, according to Carbondale Police Department.
He was arrested. Police say he was also found to be in possession of a controlled substance.
Mitchell faces charges of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and possession of a controlled substance.
He was taken to the Jackson County Jail.
