Carbondale man facing multiple charges

CARBONDALE, Ill. (KBSI) – A Carbondale man injured another person while brandishing a firearm.

City of Carbondale police officers responded to a disturbance call in the 2400 block of South Illinois Avenue, on November 26, 2023 at 3:25 a.m.

Officers arrived at the home and learned Zachary X. Vineyard, age 23 of Carbondale, injured the victim.

The victim and Vineyard knew each other and were acquaintances.

The victim was harmed after they got into a physical altercation with Vineyard in which Vineyard then presented a gun.

The victim received minor injuries.

There was a child at the home during the altercation.

Officers recovered the firearm and arrested Vineyard.

He faces charges of Aggravated Assault with a Firearm, Domestic Battery, Endangering the Life or Health of a Child, and No Firearm Owner’s Identification Card.

Zachary X. Vineyard is being held at the Jackson County Jail.

The investigation is still ongoing.
