Big Muddy Brewing hosts 3rd annual Christkindl festival

MURPHYSBORO, Ill. (KBSI) – Big Muddy Brewing hosted its third annual Christkindl festival on Saturday afternoon.

Visitors shopped local art and craft vendors selling a variety of products and tasted craft beers from regional breweries, as well.

This festival is modeled after the Christkindl festivals held in Germany around Christmastime.

Big Muddy Brewing Owner and Founder Chuck Stuhrenberg described how the idea for this festival at Big Muddy came about.

“I’m German, and it’s a German tradition. Heather from Merchop, which is a local craft place that does shirts and wears, she came to me a few years ago and said, ‘hey, maybe we should do something like this,’ and it turned out to be great, and people are coming from everywhere,” he said.
