Jefferson County K9 officers receive trauma packs

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ill. (KBSI) – Each K9 and its handler working for Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and Mount Vernon Police Department received trauma packs.

Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Dispatcher Travis Settle saw a need for the K9s working in Jefferson County to have K9 trauma packs and oxygen masks. He and Correctional Officer Stephanie Heyder and a few Jefferson County businesses raised enough funds to outfit each K9 and its handler working for Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and Mount Vernon Police Department.

More funds were raised than expected so they purchased three foldable stretchers for the K9s.

Dispatcher Settle, correctional officer Heyder, EmmyLou’s Bounce Houses and Party Rentals, N-Sight Security Solutions and Out Of Love Arts Photography LLC donated to make this goal happen.
