CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – Firefighters responded to a house fire in Cape Girardeau Wednesday, December 27.

It happened in the 900 block of Hickory Street.

The person in the home and his/her dog escaped safely. There were no injuries.

Firefighters battled the blaze for more than three hours.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Mutual aid agencies who came into Cape Girardeau to run any additional incidents while Cape Girardeau firefighters were fighting the fire.
