Traffic stop leads to drug arrest in Calloway County

CALLOWAY COUNTY, Ky. (KBSI) – A Murray woman faces drug charges after a traffic stop in Calloway County.

Sheila Burgess, 56, of Murray faces charges of possession of controlled substance 1st degree, 2nd offense-methamphetamine (Class D felony) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Calloway County Sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop on Radio Road around 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 3.

Burgess, the driver, was found to be in possession of illicit drugs, according to the deputies.

She was previously found guilty of possessing methamphetamine in November 2019 in Carlisle County.

Burgess was taken to the Calloway County Detention Center on the below listed charges.
