2 men facing gun, drug charges in Woodlawn

WOODLAWN, Ill. (KBSI) – Two men face drug charges in Woodlawn.
The Mt. Vernon Police Department/Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit with members of the United States Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force tried to serve an arrest warrant on 40-year-old Brian Dennis at 212 North Main Street in Woodlawn around 10:30 a.m. on January 8.
Dennis was found inside the home. During the arrest, authorities say they saw evidence of criminal activity.
The home was secured. Officers obtained a search warrant.
Marc Baker, 42, the primary resident, was taken into custody.
Both he and Dennis were taken to the Jefferson County Justice Center.
A juvenile found inside the home was taken into protective custody. DCFS was contacted to assist.
Dennis was booked into the Jefferson County Jail on his out-of-county warrant, as well as new charges of being an armed habitual criminal, possession of a firearm by a felony, and possession of ammunition by a felon.
Baker was booked into the Jefferson County Jail on charges of meth-related child endangerment, aggravated possession with the intent to distribute over 900 grams of meth, and obstruction of justice by destruction of evidence.
The investigation is ongoing.
