Man accused of driving through yards, damaging property in Hurst

HURST, Ill. (KBSI) – A man faces several charges after sheriff’s deputies say he drove through yards and damaged property.
Ricky A. Cooper faces charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of controlled substance, driving while license revoked, possession of adult use cannabis inside a motor vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Williamson County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 100 block of North Wilson Street in Hurst at 4:25 p.m. on January 7.
The resident reported that Cooper was driving through yards and damaging property by driving a vehicle and accelerating at a high rate of speed.
Deputies saw significant damage to the yard. The property owner reported seeing Cooper driving a black Toyota Four Runner.
While speaking with the property owner deputies saw a black Toyota Four Runner drive by.
The property owner said, “There he is now.”
The vehicle was stopped and Cooper was identified as the driver who has a revoked driver’s license.
Sheriff’s deputies say Cooper had methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, psilocybin mushroom and cannabis.
Cooper was arrested and taken to the Williamson County Jail.
The property owner elected not to sign a complaint for criminal damage to property.
