Hazel woman arrested on multiple charges after dog injures deputy

HAZEL, Ky. (KBSI) – A Hazel woman faces multiple charges after a dog injured a sheriff’s deputy.

Calloway County sheriff’s deputies tried to serve court papers to an address on Gilbert Street in Hazel around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 24.

Two females were at the home when deputies saw what was believed to be illicit drugs. They were given commands to sit on the porch while a search warrant was obtained.

Sheriff’s deputies say they did not comply and became actively resistant.

Deputies say Camie Wetter went to the door and released a pit bull which bit one of the deputies on the leg causing a minor injury.

Both females were detained.

Wetter was arrested and faces resisting arrest, trafficking controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance 1st degree, possession of a controlled substance 3rd degree, illegal possession of a legend drug, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, endangering the welfare of a minor, harboring a vicious animal

Deputies say they found Oxycodone consistent with trafficking and other pills that were not believed to be prescribed to her.

The second female was cited with a court date on misdemeanor charges and left to tend to a child that was in the home.
