Carbondale police investigating robbery

CARBONDALE, Ill. (KBSI) – Carbondale police are investigating a robbery that happened on February 18.

Police officers responded to a business in the 100 block of West Jackson Street at 4:46 p.m. on Feb. 18 for a report of a robbery.

Officers learned the suspect, described as a Hispanic male wearing a dark colored hoodie and a black face mask, entered the business and displayed what appeared to be a firearm concealed in his waistband.

The suspect took property and left the business.

Officers found the suspect on video. The suspect is seen entering the business at 4:40 p.m., leaving at 4:43 p.m. and last seen running north on North Illinois Avenue away from the business.

Police say the suspect removed the hoodie and was believed to be wearing a red t-shirt.

No injuries were reported.

The investigation is active and ongoing.
