Man facing drug, firearms charges after traffic stop near Bernie

BERNIE, Mo. (KBSI) – A rural Dexter man faces drug and firearms charges after a traffic stop near Bernie.

Dustin Hadley faces charges of possession of controlled substance Class D felony, unlawful possession of a firearm Class D felony and unlawful use of a weapon Class E felony.

On Tuesday, February 27, a Stoddard County sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near the intersection of State Highway H and State Highway U near Bernie, according to Stoddard County Sheriff Carl Hefner.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as Hadley.

Authorities found a loaded pistol during a search of the vehicle Hadley was driving.

Hadley is a convicted felon and not allowed to possess a firearm.

A further search was found a small plastic bag containing a crystal like substance, which was later field tested positive for methamphetamine.

Hadley was arrested and taken to the Stoddard County Jail on a no bond warrant.
