2 arrested after stolen vehicle found in Marion, IL

MARION, Ill. (KBSI) – Two people face charges after sheriff’s deputies found a stolen vehicle and one person with drugs.

Williamson County Sheriff’s deputies saw a silver Nissan traveling on the road without valid registration at 10:37 p.m. on Saturday, February 24.

They stopped the vehicle near the intersection of Illinois Route 13 and Carbon Street in Marion.

Joshua L Biegel, the driver, told deputies he did not have vehicle registration because he had just purchased the vehicle.

He provided a driver’s license but did not have proof of insurance.

Biegel had three outstanding arrest warrants; a parole violation from Kentucky (extraditable), probation violation from Indiana (extraditable) and a forgery warrant from Idaho (non-extraditable).

He was arrested and put in a patrol vehicle.

Graceevelyn A. Biegel, a passenger in the vehicle, told deputies she had a non-extraditable warrant out of Kentucky.

Deputies found the vehicle was stolen out of Louisville, Ky.

Deputies say Graceevelyn told them she methamphetamine in her possession.

Both were taken to the Williamson County Jail.

Jail staff retrieved the suspected methamphetamine from Graceevelyn which later field tested positive.

Joshua Biegel faces charges of possession of stolen vehicle, theft and no valid registration.

Graceevelyn Biegel faces charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Deputies contacted the Louisville Metro Police Department who said Joshua L Biegel was the suspect in their stolen vehicle case.
