SIU to take on Illinois-Chicago in Arch Madness

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KBSI) – The Southern Illinois University men’s basketball team begins its quest for the NCAA tournament on Thursday.

The Salukis play in the opening round of the Missouri Valley Conference tournament, otherwise known as “Arch Madness” Thursday night in St. Louis.

The Salukis earned the 6th seed in the league and will take on 11th seeded Illinois-Chicago.

“We’ve just got to have an unbelievable spirit and mindset about us going into St. Louis,” said SIU Men’s Basketball Head Coach Bryan Mullins. “The first game of a tournament is always the hardest. You can’t win the tournament unless you win that first game, so we’ve got to make sure that we prepare right as a staff and then the guys are ready to go.”

Tip-off for the Salukis’ clash with UIC will be at approximately 8:30 p.m. on March 7.
