Gas prices jump in Missouri
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – You will be digging deeper into your pockets to fill up at the pump.
Gas prices jumped more than a quarter per gallon in Missouri this week.
In the Show Me state it sits at $3.19 which is 26 cents more than last week.
Chase Siefert is a freshman at Southeast Missouri State University.
He says rising gas prices have made his life as a college student more difficult, and he has not visited home in quite some time because of it.
“The gym is a mile or so from my dorm, and I usually have driven, but I have been walking recently just because I don’t have much money and I’m not trying to spend that much, said Siefert. “This is my first time going home since the beginning of the semester because it’s been so expensive.”
Steadily rising crude oil prices and climbing gasoline demand have been the key contributors to a jump in prices at the pump.
