1 injured, 1 in custody after stabbing in Parma

PARMA, Mo. (KBSI) – One person is in custody after another was injured in a stabbing in Parma Tuesday night.
Charles T. Walker of Parma faces charges of domestic assault-1st degree-serious injury, armed criminal action and tampering with physicial evidence in felony prosecution.
New Madrid County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a home in Parma on March 12 around 6 p.m. after a 911 call was received that a female had been stabbed.
Deputies found a woman with a puncture wound to her right arm pit. She was taken to Missouri Delta Medical Center for treatment.
One witness told police he/she used a towel to help control the bleeding.
The victim was taken by ambulance to the hospital where she was treated for her injuries.
Police say Walker arrived on scene and said, “I didn’t do anything, I was with Charles all day working.” Police say he had a strong odor of an alcoholic intoxicant coming from his breath. His eyes were glassy and watery.
Deputies arrested Walker.
They executed a search warrant at a home where investigators processed the crime scene and collected evidence. Deputies found blood evidence in the living room and kitche. A kitchen knife with water on it as if someone washed it was found in the kitchen sink, according to the probable cause statement. Deputies could see doplets of water mixed with blood on the middle divider of the sink.
The victim told deputies she and Walker had been drinking and began to argue about him “looking at another woman.” That’s when the victim said Walker stabbed her with a kitchen knife under her right armpit.
The victim is in stable condition.
